Welcome to Math! My name is Erin Kappers (pronounced like the metal: "Coppers") and this is my fourth year teaching mathematics at the secondary level. I was at La Crescent Middle School for two years teaching 7th and 8th grade math. Thus, this is my second year at Kingsland... and I am SO EXCITED!

I am very familiar with southeastern Minnesota, as I was born, raised, and attended schools in Rochester. Following my graduation from Mayo High School, I attended the University of North Dakota for two years. While pursuing my studies there, I competed at the Division I level for women's tennis. Desiring a program that focused more on HOW to teach rather than WHAT to teach, I then transferred to Winona State University where I completed my Bachelor of Science-Teaching degree in 2014. I continued to play tennis at WSU, and after exhausting my 4-year eligibility status, I was the assistant tennis coach.

The best method of contacting me during the school day is via email:

If you wish to speak with me personally, please call before 7:30am or after 2:30pm:
(507) 346-7276 -- Ext. #: 3101

Some of my hobbies outside of school include:
  • Playing tennis or ping-pong (I'm pretty awesome at both)
  • Playing/snuggling with my dog, Adah (1/2 German Shepard, part Lab, and the rest is a mix)
  • Playing the piano (I have been playing since I was 5 years old)
  • Drawing house plans (I hope to one day design my dream home)
  • Doing math/logic puzzles (i.e. Sudoku)
  • Coloring/crafts (I'm still such a kid at heart... I think that's why I love teaching so much!!!)
