On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, we are asking the Kingsland Community to vote on a bond measure that would construct a performing arts and gymnasium addition to provide our arts departments and community with a space for performance and meetings. The space will also function as an additional gym space to accommodate physical education classes throughout the day, and to allow all athletic practices to happen on campus without the need for early morning or late night practices and lower transportation costs. The referendum link is here.
Riverland Truck Driving Tour - Monday, May 7, 2018
Riverland Community College is offering a truck driving tour to our interested students in grades 10-12. The need for over-the-road drivers is high. Interested students should sign up with Mr. Rohne. The event is on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM. The link to the flyer is here.
The School board approved next year's (SY2018-2019) academic calendar. The calendar has school beginning two weeks earlier than normal, Monday, August 20, 2018. The purpose behind starting school before Labor Day is to provide a longer summer in 2019. The school district is undertaking a major health and safety project requiring additional time needed for the summer of 2019. I want to assure our families that we will work with you regarding vacation plans and state and county fairs (FFA/4H). We will hold-harmless our students needing to be gone during the early start window. Our staff is prepared to work with you for their success. Please communicate early and often with our office secretaries as your August plans begin to take shape. Again, we are here to support you. Calendar link is here.

Parent Portals - Infinite Campus
The Parent Portals are now populated with student, family and household information. Those that attended the KHS Open House picked up their activation keys to login to the Parent Portal. If you were not able to attend the open house, you may stop by the KHS office to pick up your activation key and directions. You may also email Jim Hecimovich, and he can send it to you via email.
